You need driving licence DE if you want to transport a heavy trailer behind the bus.

Drivers wishing to transport a trailer behind the bus with a maximum authorized mass of more than 750 kg are required to obtain the E by D license. For professional use, they must also have the professional competence.
Exam driving license DE
The E by D exam covers all facets of the driving profession. In a variety of situations, you must demonstrate your professional competence.

It begins with a comprehensive check of papers and the vehicle to be attached. Then you hitch the combination and take an exam course, where your driving record and traffic insight are assessed.
This is done on various roads, both inside and outside built-up areas. During the drive, you will also perform special maneuvers in industrial areas.

Duration: 85 minutes
Admission requirements / taking to the exam
minimum 18 years of age and the following documents:

A valid Dutch driver’s license D (automatic or shift)
or: a Dutch driver’s license D (automatic or shift) whose validity has expired and a legal ID,
or: a valid EC/EEA driving license D (automatic or shift) and legal identification
the call for the exam

Results of practical exam
Immediately after the exam, the examiner will give you the results. If your mail address is known to CCV, you will also receive the results at this mail address. Through the mail you will receive a so-called results form. On this you can check what you did right or wrong.

Did you not provide a mailing address? Then your driving school will receive the results form via email and you can pick it up at the driving school.

We recommend that you discuss a failing grade with your trainer regarding follow-up classes.

When you successfully complete the exam, the examiner sends your results directly to the Central Registry of Driver’s Licenses digitally.
